Social Justice Praxis – In and Beyond the Classroom

Dr. Nancy Kwang Johnson, Dr. Jenifer Crawford, Dr. Esther Gross, Dr. Emmy J. Min, Dr. Ekaterina Moore, Dr. Kimberly Ferrario .

This panel seeks to explore how ESL/EFL educators may effectively engage in social justice praxis (Freire, 1970) - in and beyond the classroom. Panelists will describe social justice curriculum and equitable assessments that effectively place their students‘ funds of knowledge (Espinoza, et al., 2021) at the epicenter of the classroom.

Positivity and Engagement in Online and Hybrid Teaching

Dr. Dawn Bikowski

This presentation will explore the concept of engagement from a personal level. We will look at how we can maximize student engagement in order to build positivity in online and hybrid classes through three best practices.

Live Presentations – 45-minute sessions by a speaker or group of speakers

Teaching Tip Videos – Short, specific, and pedagogically-focused pre-recorded sessions

In additions, Exhibitors will offer short live sessions.

Exhibitor Showcases  – 20-minute sessions that introduce a product, highlight a particular series or text, or focus on a skill area or student population.
