For Presenters

CATESOL2025 Stronger Together

October 17-18 at Chabot College, Hayward, In-person: Friday & Saturday

Attention Conference Presenters:

Recommended Good Practices

  1. Make sure you have a backup of your presentation on a USB drive and/or in the cloud. The more backups you have in different locations, the easier it will be to troubleshoot.
  2. If you would rather use your own laptop, bring your own adapter that connects to HDMI. Each computer desk also has charging outlets, so feel free to bring a charger in case your laptop's battery starts running low.

When/where is my presentation?

Please consult the program ahead of time to see when and where where you will be presenting. When you arrive at the conference, please take a peek at your classroom ahead of time to get acquainted with the space. (More information coming soon!)

Classrooms:

All classrooms at our Chabot College location are equipped with a computer, a monitor, a projector, speakers, and internet. The computer has wired internet and the room has wifi (in case you will use your own laptop). The computer comes with an HDMI cable and several common adaptors for laptops. There is also an Elmo document camera on the computer desk, and to switch between these three options you will select the desired input by using a switch.

Each desktop will have its own login and password. This information will be printed out on a sheet of paper and displayed by each computer. If you need help logging into a computer or your own laptop, there will be one person per floor to assist. If you are not the first presenter of the day, the computer will probably already be logged on.

Questions?

If you have questions about your technical setup before or on the date of your presentation, please text or call AV Tech CATESOL volunteer. (Contact information coming soon!)
