For Presenters

CATESOL2025 Stronger Together

October 17-18 at Chabot College, Hayward, In-person: Friday & Saturday

Attention Conference Presenters:

Recommended Good Practices

  1. Make sure you have a backup of your presentation on a USB drive and/or in the cloud. The more backups you have in different locations, the easier it will be to troubleshoot.
  2. If you would rather use your own laptop, bring your own adapter that connects to HDMI. Each computer desk also has charging outlets, so feel free to bring a charger in case your laptop's battery starts running low.
  3. Please review the Presenter Tech Info Document to learn how to use the tech equipment at the presentation stations in the classrooms CATESOL will be using for conference presentations at Chabot College.

When/where is my presentation?

Please consult the program ahead of time to see when and where where you will be presenting. When you arrive at the conference, please take a peek at your classroom ahead of time to get acquainted with the space.

Classrooms:

All classrooms at our Chabot College location are equipped with a computer, a monitor, a projector, speakers, and internet. The computer has wired internet and the room has wifi (in case you will use your own laptop). The computer comes with an HDMI cable and several common adaptors for laptops. There is also an Elmo document camera on the computer desk, and to switch between these three options you will select the desired input by using a switch.

Each desktop will have its own login and password. This information will be printed out on a sheet of paper and displayed by each computer. If you need help logging into a computer or your own laptop, there will be one person per floor to assist. If you are not the first presenter of the day, the computer will probably already be logged on.

    Questions?

If you have questions about your technical setup before or on the date of your presentation, please connect with "Ask Me" volunteers that will be in each building.

    Attention Poster Session Presenters:

    Where

There is a poster session for each day of the conference, October 17 & 18, from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. Please check the schedule in the Poster Presentation Guidelines which lists the wonderful presenters and their topics for each day. Some presentations will have 2 presenters, but the schedule includes the name of the main presenter.

    When

Poster sessions will be in the covered walkway between buildings 800 and 500.

For more information on what to bring and when to take down the poster, check out the Poster Presentation Guidelines.
