Instructions for CATESOL Proposal Submission
Step 1: Pre-Submission Preparation by Presenters
- Presenters need to choose and assemble contact details of any co-presenters.
- Choose presentation type (demonstration, paper, workshop, publisher session, panel discussion, or poster session).
- Write, edit, proofread, and save title (9 words max.), abstract (50 words max.), and summary (200 words max.) as a document (.doc), like in Microsoft Word.
Step 2: Submission Online
- Plan to spend about 15 minutes entering the information, including copying and pasting time for the title, abstract, and summary. Have your prepared computer document ready for this step.
- Access the online submission website with "Internet Explorer"(PC user), "Firefox", or "Safari" (MAC user) Web browser. Be aware that some campuses have restrictions on Internet use so that you may not be able to submit from your worksite. Turn OFF your pop-up blocker in order to submit (Tools menu).
- Go to http://www.conferencereview.com. Register if you are a first-time user of this system. To register, create a Username and a Password that you will remember. Example: username: firstlastname; password: catesolrocks [Write it down somewhere easy to find for next year.]
- If you are already registered, enter your username and password. Click LOGIN.
- Select your conference from the list provided.
- The Conference Reviewing System (CRS) will take you page by page to enter your personal information and then to submit a proposal by typing in your title and your abstract. Under "File to Upload", click the "Browse" button. Locate the document that has your summary on your computer, highlight it, and click "open". Your whole document will be submitted.
- After you submit, wait a moment for a dialogue box. Click OK. – You did it!
Step 3. Troubleshooting
- You may want to view the CRS demo first. It is 13 short pages and shows you step by step how to enter the information. It is located on the bottom left of their home (opening) page.
- Email CRS Tech Support if you need help. Click on "Contact Us" in the bottom right corner of any CRS page. Totally frustrated? Email our CATESOL submission contact: Margaret Teske, mteske55@yahoo.com.
- You SHOULD receive an email confirmation of receipt of your submission. If you don't get one, it may be that your email box has automated emails listed as spam. Contact either the conference program chair or Margaret Teske, mteske55@yahoo.com.
Step 4: Post-Submission
- After submitting, you have until the final deadline to revise your submission at the CRS website. Do this by going to the CRS website, log in, and click on Upload Submission. Follow the directions.
- An email receipt will confirm your submission (although it will not include all the details of your submission).
- If you do NOT receive an email confirmation from CRS within 48 hours, you will need to resubmit.
