Subject: China (03.08.10) EFL - Summer Summer Camp Language Trainer Dates: June 17, 2010 to August 20, 2010 Location: Shanghai or Beijing, China Schedule: 40 hours/week (24 teaching hours) Disney is looking for creative, enthusiastic and experienced individuals to instruct children ages 4-12 in an intensive Summer Camp program at Disney English Language Learning Centers in Shanghai and Beijing, China. Trainers will follow an innovative and immersive Disney inspired program, leveraging start-of-the-art technology as well as Disney’s beloved characters and stories. The use of children’s drama, animation and other materials will provide students with a highly engaging and effective premium learning experience. Once you complete our thorough orientation program, you will quickly become proficient in delivering Disney English content. A variety of printed materials, multimedia tools and audio-visual aids that include formal exercises and language games will be provided in order to deliver a dynamic curriculum that emphasizes dialogue, story-telling, performing arts, singing and role-playing. The English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program in the Center for Language Education and Development
(CLED) invites applications for the position of full-time Instructor, English as a Foreign Language,
beginning August 2010. The position offers a 10 month academic year contract with benefits and the
opportunity for renewal. Summer teaching is also available under separate contract. The salary is
commensurate with experience.
The mission of the Georgetown University EFL program is to provide quality language instruction and
cultural orientation to students who require English for their academic, professional or personal
needs. Faculty incorporate a variety of teaching methods and technologies into their classroom
instruction based on their familiarity with current best practices in the field.
CLED EFL Instructors are expected to maintain a clear understanding of the program’s curricular
objectives and teaching expectations; plan and implement lessons that are engaging, productive and
challenging; participate in program service including testing and orientation responsibilities and
service on program committees; and engage in ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in TESL or closely related field
* Minimum of 3 years full time teaching experience in a university based intensive EFL/ESL program
* Experience in communicative language methodology, skills integration, task based learning, and
proficiency in using technology as an integrated component of classroom instruction
* Experience in teaching across program levels and skills
* Interest in teaching in overseas programs
* Experience in distance learning methodologies
* Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team
